Work Experience

More than three decades in the profession and associated with Electricity Board since 1981 and currently working as Managing Director, HPSLDC on one of the senior position in management at head quarter level.


Academic-Technical Qualifications:

Graduated in Electrical Engineering with Honors from Thapar College of Engineering and Technology, did Master of Engineering with Honors from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management & Labour Welfare from H.P. University and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from IGNOU. Also undergone specialized courses in Computer Languages and Operating Systems viz. C++, ASP. NET, UNIX and ORACLE etc. equivalent to MS in Software Technology.

Job Profile:

Under present assignment as Chief Engineer (System Operation) responsible for Management, Control and Regulation of Power within the State of Himachal Pradesh and its bilateral exchanges with neighboring States and Transactions on Power Exchanges Platforms, matters related with PPAs, Interstate Billing, CERC Regulations etc. Also entrusted with Long Terms Planning of EHV, HV and LV Distributions Systems in Himachal Pradesh and to act as Nodal Officer in respect of schemes of electrical works viz. APDRP, RGGVY, DDUGJY, IPDS, RM & LE Schemes of Ministry of Power and MNES Govt. of India since 2013. Prior to this assignment worked and Chief Engineer (Planning and Monitoring) in the headquarters of HPSEBL and has been responsible for CAPEX Plan for MYT Control Period FY  2012-14 and result frame work documents (RFD) of HPSEBL for FY 2011-12 and also development of target monitoring and review system (TRM) for entire activities of HPSEBL i.e. Generation, EHV and HV-LV Distribution Systems etc.

  • Development of Computer Based Monitoring Model for Hydro Electric Projects with ONLINE Query and Reporting facility.
  • Development of MIS System for HPSEB.
  • Techniques for Effective Construction Monitoring of Transmission Lines Presented at National seminar on Techniques for rapid implementation of Hydro Electric Projects.
  • Establishment of State Load Despatch Centre (SLDC) and making its processes auto run on the inhouse developed Software named Shakti 1.0 and Website of HPSEB and ALDC namely www.hpseb.com and www.hpaldc.org 
Development of Model for re-organization of HPSEBL.

Besides, attended to Round table conferences one in Orlando USA and another in Vienna Austria on the behalf of the State Govt. during 2011.

Also Mentored 60 Nos Student as a Project Guide for Technology Projects under various courses of AMIE & IGNOU.
